1. "Hitting Game" Working title

Project summary
In a carnival-like setting, a host asks for several participants among the viewers to play a game in which they have to try to hit a target by a distance with a ball with paint. The target is a group of men, dressed as a woman, who would run from one wall to another (so there’s an opening for hitting), avoiding to be hit. After every participant hit a target, the host will thank everyone for participating and introduce himself (what s/he does in real life) and also introduce the target who is a group of transgenders in real life.

Background and motivation
I once saw several men putting on a small show at T-Centralen station, they were singing and playing music, one of them dressed in a woman dress. He did wild physical dance and b-boy steps, a crowd built up quickly, everyone laughed and enjoyed his moves.
I can’t help but wonder if they were laughing at his moves, the way he dressed or both, and if this show contains a subtle discrimination against women, transgenders and feminine homosexuals. Even people who already accept LGBT, they may still have subconscious bias. This type of activities may enforce people especially young people to associate LGBT people with silliness, stupidity, or less of a person.

Objective
This project aims to create awareness of implicit discrimination that may arise which can cause many social problems.

Participate needed: Transgender

Location: The project will be performed at Huddinge Public Art festival in April 2010, and may be repeated at the Huddinge Performance festival in November 2010.
